Women for Women International (WfWI) is dedicated to empowering women in 17 conflict-affected countries as they rebuild their lives. Our focus is on regions where gender inequality is most severe, supporting women who have survived war and conflict. We provide them with essential skills to reconstruct their families, uplift their communities, and transform their lives. Our programs unite women into community cohorts where they learn to save, launch businesses, understand their rights, improve health, and advocate for transformative change. For three decades, WfWI has leveraged data-driven insights, feedback from country teams, and the voices of women themselves to refine and evolve our approach.
Since 2002, WfWI has been actively working in five provinces of Afghanistan. Participants in our program receive vocational training in areas such as animal husbandry, tailoring, and knitting. They engage in self-help groups, acquire business investment knowledge, and receive stipends to bolster their economic independence. Additionally, we educate women on their rights, financial management, and social advocacy, encouraging them to play a significant role in household decision-making and community development. WfWI’s initiatives also include engaging men as allies, fostering broader community support for women’s empowerment.
Globally, WfWI supports grassroots and local women-led organizations, providing resources and capacity-building to address self-identified priorities. Through ongoing advocacy, we work to ensure that women’s voices are integral to policy-making and community leadership, creating an environment conducive to long-term change in conflict-affected areas.
The Finance Monitor will be a vital member of the finance team at WfWI Afghanistan, tasked with managing grant and sub-grant financial operations for women beneficiaries and women-led organizations (WLOs). This role will ensure that project funds under the AIDI project are effectively managed, financial compliance is maintained, and donor requirements are met. The Finance Monitor will collaborate closely with project teams to maintain financial transparency and provide financial literacy training to women participants, aiding them in developing and expanding their businesses.
Additionally, the Finance Monitor will act as a liaison between program participants, external partners, and WfWI, aligning financial activities with organizational objectives. This position involves supporting WLO partnerships, coordinating financial support, and ensuring adherence to financial guidelines set by WfWI and donors.
