Job Summary

The Deputy IT Manager is responsible for supporting and advancing the organization’s IT landscape through expert-level technical knowledge and strategic planning. This leadership role includes managing IT infrastructure, software systems, technical personnel, and technology initiatives while ensuring compliance with bank policies. The ideal candidate should have robust experience in Oracle systems, Solaris OS, virtualization technologies, and enterprise networking and security.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Align IT development and initiatives with the bank’s strategic goals using strong technical and business insight.
  2. Ensure all IT processes comply with internal policies and departmental standards.
  3. Assess departmental skills gaps and lead upskilling initiatives for IT team members.
  4. Manage the performance and upkeep of the organization’s technical infrastructure.
  5. Apply best-practice methodologies for software development, maintenance, and system upgrades.
  6. Guide IT teams in designing, developing, and improving business systems.
  7. Evaluate and recommend IT equipment, software, and services, and support staff in resolving technical challenges.
  8. Oversee the deployment and management of networking and data communication systems.
  9. Review and advise on Oracle platforms and virtualization tools, providing strategic input to management.
  10. Develop project budgets, assign resources, and manage timelines to meet department goals.
  11. Prioritize tasks and workloads to ensure effective project delivery.
  12. Monitor staff performance and promote continuous improvement through structured feedback.
  13. Ensure that systems are operating as intended, meeting performance expectations.
  14. Compile and deliver timely reports for executive management review.
  15. Set standards for data reporting and conduct analysis to inform decision-making.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned by senior management.
Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4–6 years of relevant IT experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle DB, WebLogic, and Solaris OS.
  • Proven ability to manage virtualized environments and IT systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of networking and information security principles.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) – Database or WebLogic
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
  • CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar security credentials
  • ITIL Foundation Certification
