Job Summary

This role involves managing comprehensive financial functions such as planning budgets, analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring tax compliance, with a particular focus on our construction-related projects. As an Accountant, you will help maintain financial accuracy, contribute to strategic planning, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. You will work alongside the Finance Manager to support overall financial stability and project efficiency.

Job Responsibilities
  • Handle day-to-day financial tasks including budget planning, forecasts, tax reporting, and financial documentation.
  • Design and implement financial systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and meet regulatory standards.
  • Monitor budget execution and financial records through audits to ensure accuracy across construction-related accounts.
  • Collaborate with project leads, procurement officers, and field staff to maintain precise records of spending on labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Prepare and control construction project budgets, ensuring financial discipline throughout project lifecycles.
  • Analyze financial performance data to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance productivity.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable laws and financial policies, especially in construction-specific transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve financial inconsistencies and apply necessary corrective measures.
  • Oversee tax preparation and ensure compliance with local taxation rules and reporting schedules.
  • Develop tax strategies that optimize expenditures and reduce liabilities related to ongoing projects.
  • Keep up with evolving tax legislation and its implications for construction and real estate operations.
  • Promote a team-oriented environment by supporting professional development among accounting personnel.
  • Provide consistent updates and collaborate with senior finance staff to align financial strategies with business goals.
Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; advanced qualifications such as ACCA or a Master’s degree are an advantage.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably within construction or real estate sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage financial activities tied to construction budgeting and reporting.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard financial tools and strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills in English and local languages, both written and spoken.
