Job Summary
The Sales Officer is responsible for managing the sales of cargo and freight services, maintaining relationships with existing clients, and identifying new business opportunities. The Sales Officer must be capable of driving revenue growth by achieving sales targets and expanding the customer base.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to meet revenue and growth objectives for cargo and freight services.
- Identify and pursue new sales opportunities in both existing and emerging markets.
- Manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation to deal closure.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and partners to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Conduct regular client meetings to understand their needs and provide tailored supply chain solutions.
- Address and resolve client issues and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Research market trends, competitor activities, and customer demands to uncover new opportunities.
- Provide management with insights into the competitive landscape and potential market shifts.
- Monitor sales performance and track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare detailed sales reports for senior management, including revenue forecasts, pipeline updates, and market analysis.
- Analyze sales data to identify performance gaps and implement necessary improvements.
- Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure seamless service delivery to customers.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional materials and campaigns that support sales initiatives.
- Train, mentor, and motivate junior sales staff to achieve targets and enhance their performance.
- Ensure all sales activities adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and industry standards.
- Oversee accurate documentation of contracts, proposals, and other sales-related materials.

- Target: Achieve the specified monthly sales target for cargo services.
Customer Acquisition Rate
- Target: Acquire a defined number of new contractual customers each month.
Client Retention Rate
- Target: Maintain a client retention rate of at least 75%.
Lead Conversion Rate
- Target: Convert 70% of qualified leads into paying customers.
Sales Pipeline Health
- Target: Maintain a monthly sales pipeline with a defined total value.
Gross Profit Margin
- Target: Sustain a gross profit margin of 10% on all cargo sales.
Customer Satisfaction & Feedback
- Target: Reach an average customer satisfaction score of 90%.
Average Deal Size
- Target: Maintain an average transaction size of $7,500.
Sales Cycle Length
- Target: Reduce the average sales cycle to 3 days.
Cross-Selling and Upselling Rate
- Target: Achieve a cross-sell/upsell rate of 25% of total sales, focusing on Domestic and International Courier services.
Sales Activity Metrics
- Target: Complete 250 outbound sales calls and conduct 125 client meetings each month.
