MSI Reproductive Choices Afghanistan (MSIA) operates as a branch of MSI, a global non-profit, non-governmental organization based in London, UK. MSIA officially began its work in Afghanistan in August 2002 after being registered with the Afghan government. Guided by MSI’s mission, MSIA is dedicated to enhancing Afghan women’s health and well-being, empowering them to build healthier and stronger families. Our vision is to be the preferred choice for Afghan women seeking high-quality, client-focused healthcare delivered by women, for women.
MSIA’s efforts are focused on decreasing maternal mortality through the delivery of sustainable, high-quality maternal and child health (MCH) and reproductive health (RH) services across 17 provinces, including Kabul, Balkh, Herat, Jawzjan, Faryab, Nangarhar, Helmand, Kandahar, Baghlan, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Takhar, Samangan, Kapisa, Khost, Paktia, and Daikundi. This work is conducted in close collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).
Our approach involves offering crucial reproductive and maternal health services through clinics, outreach programs, private sector collaborations, and the MS Ladies initiative (Family Health Houses).
MSI Reproductive Choices Afghanistan (MSIA) is seeking a qualified and motivated Midwife to join its team. The Midwife will be responsible for delivering high-quality maternal and reproductive health services, including antenatal care (ANC), delivery support, postnatal care (PNC), and family planning counseling. The role involves ensuring safe clinical practices, maintaining accurate client records, providing emergency care, supporting infection prevention protocols, and contributing to the continuous improvement of healthcare services. The Midwife may also lead staff meetings, conduct on-the-job training for junior providers, and engage with the community to strengthen maternal and child health outcomes. The position demands a strong commitment to client-centered care, high standards of clinical governance, and active participation in MSIA’s mission to improve women’s health across Afghanistan.
